Stephanie McWilliams, Ph.D

About

Dr. Stephanie McWilliams earned her Ph.D. in Kinesiology with a specialization in Youth Mentorship from West Virginia University in 2019. She received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology at Columbia University in New York in 2003 and earned a post-Masters in Sport and Exercise Psychology from California University of Pennsylvania in 2012. She has been teaching at WVU since 2013. Stephanie is a licensed psychologist in the state of West Virginia as well as a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC). 

Research Interests

Dr. McWilliams is interested in the impact of mentorship on the well-being and performance of youth athletes. She has also been exploring how the addition of mental health services in a camp setting (i.e., 4H, Scouts (BSA)) impacts positive youth development outcomes.
