Welcome to the Department of Psychology at West Virginia University!
As Chair of this dynamic and diverse department, I am honored to lead a group of faculty, students, and staff dedicated to advancing the science of psychology and its applications in the service of human well-being. Our department is known for its strong research programs, outstanding teaching, and commitment to the community, both locally and beyond. We offer a wide range of undergraduate psychology programs and graduate psychology programs that prepare students for success in academic, clinical, and applied settings.
Our faculty members are engaged in cutting-edge research across numerous areas of psychology, including behavior analysis, clinical psychology, lifespan developmental psychology, and neuroscience. This research not only expands the boundaries of psychological science as a STEM discipline but also provides opportunities for our students to get hands-on experiences that bridge theory and practice.
At WVU, we believe in the power of collaboration. Our department partners with schools, healthcare providers, the justice system, and community organizations to address the pressing needs of our society. These partnerships offer students unique learning opportunities and the chance to apply their skills in real-world settings, making a tangible impact on individuals, families, and communities.
Whether you are a prospective student, current student, or member of our broader community, I invite you to explore our department and discover the many ways in which we contribute to the understanding of human behavior and the betterment of society. Together, we are shaping the future of psychology, one discovery at a time.
Thank you for visiting our website, and I encourage you to reach out if you have any questions or would like to learn more about our programs.
