Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology

Psi Chi is the international honor society in psychology, founded in 1929, for the purposes of encouraging, stimulating and maintaining excellence in scholarship, along with advancing the science of psychology. Psi Chi at West Virginia University was chartered in 1948 as the 60th chapter.

Students who meet class standing and GPA requirements are encouraged to apply for membership. A formal initiation ceremony takes place annually in the spring. Benefits of membership include recognition of academic standing in psychology, professional affiliation and a quarterly newsletter. Psi Chi works closely with the Psychology Club to foster a scholarly approach to education in psychology at WVU.
